What does a Senior Companion do?

We visit your loved ones in the comfort of their home or long-term care facility.

Senior loneliness is a major health problem in Canada, which can lead to a higher risk of:

Depression, anxiety, cognitive decline, and dementia.

High blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, & diabetes.

Poor sleep, appetite, immunity, self esteem, and quality of life.

Difficulty with daily activities, and increased risk of death.

What does the family gain?

Peace of mind that your loved one is not feeling isolated.

Beyond the care and companionship we provide to invididuals, families discover many subtle yet profound benefits to their lives, including:

Reduced mental load.

Ability to take a holiday and know that someone will be stopping by to visit.

Respite and support.

Increased independence & reduced anxiety.

About Amanda

I’m Amanda, and my passion is enriching lives through companionship and care.

My name is Amanda Redding, I have a Psychology Degree and have worked with VON caring for people with disabilities, as well as running a home daycare.

During Covid I worked in a nursing home and became aware of the great need we all have for companionship, support and a listening ear. As our older family members reach the later stages of life, isolation, mobility issues and the loss of friends and family make life lonely. This is the time when connections with people are so important.

I hold a deep and heartfelt affection for those who experience isolation and loneliness.  My sincere wish is to create meaningful influence and vitality to their lives once more.
